I did this painting as a personal challenge: could I paint rocks? The architecture of rocks is not as easy as I hoped. But the multitude of colors and the opportunity to use bold brush strokes was a journey of discovery. These half submerged rocks are so beautiful. The water was calm and so clear that the submerged rocks were well defined and the still waters reflected a perfect sky. The result is one of my favorite paintings!
