This dahlia was growing at Hillwood Estate in Washington DC several years ago. The dahlias were spectacular that day. They caught the light and revealed the many colors in each bloom. Shade from nearby plants helped define beautiful shadows thrown across the flower. The veins in each petal were delicate and lended form to the petals. How beautiful Mrs. Post's garden is. Always worth a trip!
