Just as you enter my neighborhood there is a dogwood tree that lights up every spring. Thick rafts of blossoms pronounce that life is returning to our gardens and forests in the south. Breezes create undulating shadows under the heavily laden branches. A blue towel hangs on the fence that lines the driveway. The forgotten towel has witnessed the winter and is now ready for spring yard work once again. The season is marked by the joy of the blooming dogwood tree.
