Cotton fields randomly bloom up and down Highway 431 in late September, early October. This field is just outside Claysville and features an old red barn. Leaves were beginning to change on the hillside above the barn and a cloud created a shady foreground before turning bright green in the background around the barn. The clay ground is exposed in between the cotton clumps. The field waits its turn for the Spindle Picker to harvest its bounty.
