Occasionally I like to abandon my realism roots and splash color on canvas paper like a kid stomping through a rain puddle. It's so much fun to lay down layers of color before beginning to refine and define areas with bright shapes and marks that help the mind coalesce the abstract images into a bouquet of spring offerings! Right now this lives in my studio and it makes me happy when I notice it as I am working!
